pretty good hit but no take and i remembered the article and
i just so happened to have a #6 night dancer in my box. so i
swung my fly two more times with no success then got out of
the water and walked up about ten feet, tied on the night
dancer and on the second swing,,,,,BAM she took the fly hard
right in the area of the previous hit.so i just wanted to

Just an update on the new Winston - I
love it. Got a few hours fishing in this weekend. It cast
the quiet taper line beautifully and I've never known
casting a whole line to be so effortless.
As an extra bonus, it caught a couple of
nice brown trout (using the fly fishing shop flies no less)
We are a pretty sad here though as we had
to put our old Chesapeake Bay retriever (Bear) to sleep on
Thursday. She had fought cancer very bravely and had a great
last few months (including cup cakes for breakfast on
Thursday) but the time had come to let her rest at last. We
had been expecting this for a while but it is still really
tough.

much better, than a couple of more places I have gotten hair
from, is unbelievable. I purchased some rabbit hair from
you a while back and it was great and I don't know why I
even bothered with the other stores. If the item I make

My new clippers (the streamworks one
with the light in it - and yes, i got to use the light), and
My new Simms waders
It was a chilly, howling spring gale
kind of day but: I saw fish...caught fish...stayed dry...stayed
warm ......so they all work!

Been a bit under the weather and
managed to finally open the box and get all the gear on so to

Mark: I want to thank
you for a fabulous day as a guest on your water during the
steelhead school earlier this month. I really enjoyed the
fishing and learned a whole lot from you guys.
I am sold on the
two-handed rods after that day of fishing.Now it is mostly a
matter of saving some dough to buy an outfit from you. I have a
couple of questions.
When looking at a Spey
outfit for a beginner with limited resource where should I be
sure to put as much money as possible?- the line, the rod, the
reel? I am hoping to be able to put 300-400 into a rod, low-end
cost. I would appreciate your suggestions and recommendations. I
do virtually all my fishing between November and April, and my
home water is the Grand Ronde, with some trips to the Klickitat
in November.
