A report on 2015 Clave

Everything below here is left over from Sandy River Spey Clave 2016 and may or may not be valid for 2017:
Friday is "Beginner's Day", which focuses on introducing new anglers into the sport of Spey Fishing.
Male and female Instructors/Presenters will be mixed into all three days of the scheduled on-the-water programs.

What is the Sandy River Spey Clave?
It's a gathering of anglers interested in two-hand fly rod fishing.
It provides a format for the exchange of Spey casting & fishing information.
It's a free Spey casting college open to everyone.
It's a show for your entertainment.
It's a place to rub elbows with the best Spey casters and steelhead anglers in the World!
Has been termed, "The Woodstock of Spey casting events"!

This year there will be a number of fly tackle rep groups to put on a show specifically for the Spey casting fraternity.

The plan is to provide a weekend that will entertain and inform you.
If you are interested in meeting other steelhead Spey fishers and hope to learn a lot about Spey casting and more about steelhead fishing, the Sandy River Spey Clave is for you.  The  event  will start at Oxbow Regional Park on  Friday morning  the 12th  of May  and  conclude on Sunday 13th.  Exhibitors may set up on Thursday May 11.
This  time of  year there  should be plenty of Summer  Steelhead.  Most years there are also Spring Chinooks available. 
The  days are long and  the  weather is warm.
To attend The Sandy River Spey Clave there are no charges except for the Oxbow Regional Park entrance and camping fees. Oxbow Regional Park Entrance Fee is $5.00 per vehicle.
 Camping Rules Have Changed At Oxbow Regional Park

Ready, set, reserve
 Oxbow Regional Park is now offering online camping reservations. Thanks to a new partnership between Metro and the State of Oregon, visitors can make a reservation in advance and head out to the scenic Sandy River Gorge, knowing a tent or RV site is waiting for them. You may reserve your favorite campsite up to nine months in advance.
Reservations can be made by visiting:, or call Reservations NW at 1-800-452-5687, using a MasterCard or Visa. Pets and alcohol are not allowed in Oxbow Regional Park.  
Other changes for campers: the formerly coin-operated showers are now free, check-out time has been extended to noon, and two vehicles are now permitted per campsite. For 50 years, the 1,000-acre natural area park has been a recreational treasure, offering visitors an opportunity to walk in an old growth forest, view migrating salmon and sleep under the stars. Sandy River Spey Clave 2016 Agenda for on the Water Presentations

This year marks the 16th Sandy River 'Clave. To our knowledge, The Sandy River Spey Clave is the largest gathering of Spey Casters in the Western Hemisphere. All of the best Spey Tackle manufacturers are there. The top Spey Casters in the Pacific Northwest will give On-The-Water Presentations and will act as your personal instructors during Friday's FREE Beginner's Class.
The Sandy River Spey Clave is totally integrated. Male and female Instructors/Presenters will be mixed into all three days of the scheduled on-the-water programs.
Free Catered Food will be served for lunch all three days. All members of the “Spey Community”are welcome. The essence of the Sandy River Spey 'Clave is as much social as it is educational. See you there, friends.
