Sage VXP Fly Fishing Rods

The new VXP combines versatility with performance and power. It is patterned after the renowned Sage XP Rod Series that was discontinued when Sage came out with the Z-AXIS about three seasons ago. Z-AXIS continues to be very successful at about $700 a pop. However, Sage found out that there are still a lot of XP fans out there. So they decided to bring it back using all of the newest upgrades in graphite technology. VXP rods are slightly smaller in profile than XP. No corners have been cut in hardware, cork or finish. The blank and windings are elegant shades of green and gold. A Cordura covered hard rod-case comes with every rod.
VXP is an exceptionally light, lively series of fly rods that generate high line speed for easy distance and wind penetration. In keeping with the versatility theme, each VXP is built with a specific taper to meet the particular performance needs of each line weight. For example, the light, graceful 3-weights feature a smooth, progressive action to help make delicate presentations and cushion fragile tippets.
On the other hand, the 9-and 10-weights come with a faster taper and more backbone to deal with big flies, heavy sinking-tip fly lines and tough fish. In between, you’ll find two versions of each 6-weight—one for freshwater and one for salt.
Two Spey Rod Models are offered, a six weight and a seven weight. They are lightweight, fast action and perfectly suited to the anadromous fishery trends in the Pacific Northwest.
In other words, the new VXP lineup has the perfect action for every situation. But they all share one important feature—a price that makes them a great value in every line weight - about $200 less per copy than Z-AXIS, TCX or Xi3.
