Nearly everyone on our crew owns an Abel Spey Reel. Mark owns both an Abel Spey and a Switch reel. These reels come with either ported or solid spools. They may be the perfect blend of 100+ years of incremental improvement, joined with American craftsmanship. There is no other reel of this type that compares. The finish on these reels will boggle your mind. In colors they are nearly infinitely customizable. Mechanically they are incredibly simple. They have low inertial start-up, but enough guts to get the job done. They are finger-tip and palm controllable with one of the smoothest, most comfortable rims that ever graced a fly reel. Will they develop a cult following? No doubt about it. They are very collectable, as things of the highest quality always are.

At the time of this publication, the reels below are in stock for the pleasure of your inspection, or your order. Each comes with a free .030 Rio Powerflex Core Shooting Line and 150-yards of #30 Micron Backing installed for free. This setup should go well with any Scandi or Skagit Head appropriate for this size of reel. Be sure to include which hand you wind with.
