Fluoroflex® Plus
This exceptional leader and tippet
material is made from 100% fluorocarbon (PVDF). Fluoroflex® Plus is
the strongest, thinnest fluorocarbon on the market with an
incredible strength; for example, 5 lb for 5x material. It is a
slightly softer material than Fluoroflex and ties excellent knots.
The refractive index (1.42) of Fluoroflex Plus in water (1.33)
compared to nylon (1.62) makes it almost invisible to fish.
Fluoroflex Plus, with a density of 1.72 (compared to nylon of 1.15),
sinks quicker and gets below the surface tension for more effective
dry fly, nymph and wet fly fishing. 7x - 0.015 inches. 30 yds (27.5
m).

Report from the Keys
We
are still here, prior to popular belief, the storms have missed the
Florida Keys completely. The rest of Florida is really beat up but we
got lucky. Fishing has been good for bonefish, jacks, and permit.
There are also some tarpon around on calm days.
This is probably the best time of year that we are getting into as far as catching big bonefish. As the water starts to cool into the upper and mid 70's the fish are triggered to feed aggressively. I have had a lot of good action with tailing bones the last few days.
Please check out my
web site if you are considering a trip to the Fly Fishing Mecca of the
USA.

FROM EAST CAPE, BAJA, MEXICO IN GENERAL: Dorado, Tuna, or Tuna, Dorado both were the dominating catch this week. Billfish continued to be a distant third. Roosters, as well as sierra once again made their appearance for both the beachniks and pangas fishing close to shore. AIR & SEA - Water temperature 79-88 Air temperature 74-87 Humidity about 69% Wind: NW 6 mph Conditions: Scattered Clouds Visibility 15 miles Sunrise 7:13 a.m. MDT Sunset 6:57 p.m. MDT Oct. 14, New; Oct. 20, First Quarter; Oct. 27, Full. Nov. 4, Last Quarter + OFFSHORE: Tuna all around to keep the rod bent until you are ready for a margarita at the swim-up bar + INSHORE: Dorado just don’t want to quit. Still close to shore and heavy enough to pull the old string. + BEACH: Look for the sardina and the roosters and sierra are sure to be there. BILLFISH – Slow by anyone’s standards. YELLOWFIN TUNA – Plenty. DORADO – Still the star of the inshore. ROOSTERFISH\JACK CREVALLE – Sunrise or sunset for the ambitious. BARRILETE OR MEXICAN SKIPJACK – Breezing schools in front of La Ribera. PARGO AND CABRILLA – Rocky points best. SIERRA – They are back and aggressive. Report from Gary Graham - Baja On The Fly. |
