| Gamma's proprietary
process of bombarding the material with Gamma Rays breaks down the long
strand structure in the monofilament and creates millions of intermolecular
bonds to cross link structure, creating a stronger, tougher, more flexible
tenacity material. For this reason Frog Hair offers up to 50% more shock
resistance to other materials of the same diameter. After two full seasons
of testing, Mark & Patty use Frog Hair FC Fluorocarbon exclusively for
their saltwater leader material. It is IGFA Class rated. |

Now add in the superior refractive qualities of fluorocarbon and imagine the results! Frog Hair FC is truly your competitive new advantage in both fresh and salt water. Frog Hair FC is an ultra high molecular weight PVDF fluorocarbon made using GAMMA`s exclusive processing technology. Unlike other fluorocarbon monofilaments that are very rigid and stiff, Frog Hair FC is processed to increase the flexibility of the material and provide up to two times the suppleness of other typical fluorocarbon monofilaments. The added suppleness compliments the refractive qualities of fluorocarbon to deliver the most stealthy, natural presentation possible and increase your catch rate. In addition, GAMMA`s process increases the Shock Resistance of the material to help prevent untimely break-offs resulting from aggressive strikes. The built-in Shock Resistance also provides greater fighting capability and enables you to land more and bigger world class fish than you could with other leading fluorocarbon materials. Gamma Technologies` ability to build a better product is accomplished by the willingness to differentiate, and our philosophy to engineer products from the ground up. This results in superior performance and added value for the user. The new GAMMA series of high performance fishing lines have been engineered and built to offer the angler the most preferred attributes of:

| Steelhead Arrive Early And Strong In Northwest Rivers | |

The Columbia River and it's tributaries
are experiencing a dramatic run of steelhead this summer. Early season
counts at the main stem dams are far stronger than usual. All up and down
the Deschutes last week anglers were landing fish in record numbers for
July. The two most productive fly patterns in our camp were the
Fly du Jour and
Purple Green Butt. After phone conversations with other anglers, it seems that the whole Pacific Northwest is experiencing big runs of summer steelhead. |
| The returns are way ahead of schedule at the Blue Creek Hatchery on the Cowlitz River. Likewise the Skykomish and Sol Duc Rivers are full of fish. Locally, both the Sandy and Clackamas have healthy populations of steelhead. I talked with George Cook, who had just returned from the Dean River in British Columbia. Six anglers in his group hooked 91 steelhead in seven days and landed 65. The three largest fish all measured 36" by 18 1/2". The hot flies were: Signature Intruders in Pink/Orange, Black /Blue, Purple, Jumbo Critter Pink/Orange and Pick 'Yer Pocket Pink, Orange. | |

Fly Fishing In Slovenia Pictures & commentary by Rob Weller The 72 cm rainbow (28.3 inches), was caught from Sava Bohinka River in Eastern Slovenia, 15th June. It took a heavily weighted streamer. The larger picture is the Upper Soca River, close to Slovenian/Italian border. Pictured at lower right is a Marble Trout which is endemic to the region. Today, genetically pure marble trout can be found only in the upper reaches of the Soca River Basin in northwestern Slovenia where national parks and a rural economy have kept the breathtaking landscape in pristine condition. The guiding operation is Rok Lustrik's, and he has his own website lustrik.com/. Fishing is pricey though- from memory, about 180 Euro per day plus transport, and another 59 Euro per day for the permit. Marble Trout in Wikipedia |
