After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, New York
Scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to
the conclusion, that their ancestors already had a telephone network
more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, a
California archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, A
story in the LA Times read: "California archaeologists, finding of 200
year old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an
advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than
the New Yorkers"

One week later. A local newspaper in Oregon reported the following:
"After digging as deep as 30 feet in his pasture near Riddle, Oregon.
Bubba, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely
nothing. Bubba has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, Oregon
had already gone wireless".

Just makes a person proud to live in Oregon, don't it?

UPG (Umpqua Pro Guide) Waterproof Fly Boxes

The UPG (Umpqua Professional Guide) Fly Box Series is available in three different sizes and each size has a different color for easy identification. The large box holds up to 732 flies, the medium box holds up to 508 flies, and the small box holds up to 274 flies. We dunked a couple of UPG boxes and no water entered either box. These boxes are built hell for stout and are considered waterproof. They will keep your new flies in new condition, even if you take a swim.
Remember that waterproof boxes don't breathe. Don't put soggy flies back into waterproof boxes until they have been completely dried or you will have rust on your hooks and deterioration of organic fly parts.
UPG Lids are transparent, so that identification of what is in each box is easy.
UPG boxes feature the Fly Trap™ Foam System, which incorporates precut slits into the foam. This system first introduced by C&F Designs has become very popular with many anglers. This is because the slits hold flies securely and keeps the foam from wearing out with use.
