The lines featured on this page were designed primarily for trout fishing.  In an age when specialized lines are made for every conceivable fishing application, each of these lines may be used for a wide range of fly fishing circumstances.  But, each design will excel in the environment it was designed for.  From our experience the GPX lines are least specialized and cast well on a wide variety of rods.  GPX are intentionally designed to weigh a little more than many other lines, so they tend to "tame" fast rods.  XPS lines are built for softer rods and softer presentations.  XPS lines are an 

excellent choice if you fish small trout streams.  The Expert Distance lines are at their best with stiff rods, aggressive casting styles and big water where long casts are the way to cover the water.

Master GPX

Scientific Anglers Mastery GPX Fly Line
The GPX is an all-purpose line that comes in both weight forward and double taper configurations.  It has a supple coating to reduce memory, advanced floatation properties and excellent shootability.  This line works well for any trout or panfish fishing situations and is a good choice if you only have one floating line to do everything.  GPX lines work best with moderate to fast action rods and performs well at all casting distances.  It is a good choice for both lake and stream fishing.  90' long.
