New for 2012. RIO's new Scandi Short VersiTip is a shooting head developed for smaller rivers and tight casting situations. Perfect for Great Lakes tributaries and small coastal streams One of the easiest casting Spey designs ever made Comes with 4 different 10 ft. long tips: A floating tip, intermediate tip, type 3 and type 6 Density Compensated sinking tips This is a great line for many different applications, including Spey Rods, Switch Rods and Single Hand Rods. To be noted: this line roll casts, spey cats and over-head casts with ease. Manufactured with a long front taper, this head throws wonderful tight loops that turn over beautifully at all distances. The short tips ensure that anglers can fish narrow runs and tight situations, yet have enough body outside the rod to make an easy cast. The floating head easily has enough power to turn over standard 15' tips and appropriate sizes of M.O.W. Tips for fishing at greater depths when needed. The Rio Scandi Short VersiTip Shooting Head system is also perfect for larger single hand rods. Users should note that weights are based on Spey AFTTA standard, which is about 3 line sizes heavier than the single hand rod standard. For example, if you have a #8 single hand rod, use the #5 scandi short VersiTip.
