With a little celestial guidance, RIO has created the OutBound Integrated Shooting Taper. With this line the average freshwater or saltwater caster can launch casts far, far away to the previously unreachable. Designed to load high performance rods quickly with few false casts because the 37.5 ft head is heavier than the AFTMA standards. The supple coldwater Powerflex core and coating, combined with a taper design unique to each model, plus a thin tangle-free running line, ensure the longest flight time for unearthly casts. The lines include welded loops on the front and are color-coded for sink rate.
These are very popular with Striped Bass anglers on

both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.  We tried an OutBound for small tarpon and found it to be a great line at all distances.  It was also a very good line for beating the wind. The Topical OutBound Short Intermediate may be the best overall dorado line available. Coldwater OutBounds are best in water/air temperatures from 30-degrees to 75-degrees.  Tropical OutBounds work in air/water temperatures over 60-degrees and are best in air/water temperatures from 75 to 90-degrees. Length of all OutBound lines is 120-feet.

The ideal tropical line for wading the surf or throwing huge flies, featuring a short heavy head. Perfect for Baja and the Amazon and for such species as Peacock Bass, Dorado, Trevally and Rooster fish. The line is built with a hard saltwater coating that ensures the line will not wilt in tropical heat. Welded loop on both ends for easy rigging. Available as a full floating line or a floating running line with an intermediate sinking head. Based on the same taper as the OutBound® for distance casting this line features a 30 ft head, front loaded and slightly heavier than the AFTMA standard for supreme distance. A hard saltwater coating over RIO’s unique Powerflex core ensures the line will not wilt in extreme tropical heat. The F/I line has a blue intermediate head with a 9.5 ft clear tip and a tan, floating running line for easy management in the surf. Both lines have a welded loop on the front end for easy rigging.
