were available, I heard a lot of mumbling about the fly line that my favorite female fishing buddy was using; a 400 grain deep sinking line from brand "X".  I probably said something kind, like: "All you need to do is stretch the kinks out of it, with a few heavy fish."  A few days later I used her rod.  It wasn't long until I started complaining about the tangled up line too.  She kindly informed me, "I told you so."  She was right.  Then I dug in the boat bag and spotted a line that Randy Sholes,          Continued below:

our Cortland rep had given me just before the trip.  He said, "This is the most memory free line you can imagine."  It wasn't long until we realized he was right.  It turned the whole trip around for Patty.  No more tangles.  Additionally, these lines are very sssssslick when shooting through the guides.  Patty used this line almost exclusively for the next two trips until a Mexican Pongararo at Barra De Navidad wound it up in the prop and cut it in two. This line was used on 10-weight Winston B2X and Sage 1090-4 Xi2.  It performed very well on both rods.  Rooster fish, jacks, mackerel, bonito and dorado have all been boated by its pull.
555 Q.D. (Quick Descent ) Design Purpose:
Super-fast sinking, one-piece, shooting head configuration line, to be used in all water temperatures from arctic to tropics. Designed to cast far and fish deep. The translucent polymer coating results in a line that has an intermediate running/shooting line that enables the extra-fast sinking head of the line to sink even faster.  This transparent coating material also makes the line very stealthy.  The 125' length will appeal to surf fishermen.
Features:
Sizes: are determined by grain weights in 50-grain increments.
Length: 125' overall, 30' head length
Core: Mono
