The long belly triangle taper has proven to be a very effective spey and overhead casting design. This is the perfect line for making long delicate casts to spooky fish. A triangle Taper floating spey line may be the best early morning line.  Calm mornings demand stealth.  The triangle design is "whisper" stealthy.  If the triangle taper has a flaw, it is its lack of authority in the wind.  Other shorter, heavier "slam-bang" designs are better for wind, which is exactly the reason why triangle tapers work so well when you 

need to be quiet.  The triangle taper design takes a very crisp stop at the end of the forward cast stroke to make the line straighten out through the leader, to the fly.
