Most manufacturers recommend 3-5 pounds of pressure in your inflatable boat. Five-pounds pressure is pretty tight, but boats normally perform best when hard.  Check for manufacturer's recommendations.  Remember to release pressure before you are going over high mountain passes and to check pressure when your boat is exposed to hot sun.
