These bucktails are hand picked for uniform long hair length, cleanliness and color. Few other materials have the properties of whitetail deer tail hair (known as bucktail). Bucktail fibers average about 3.5-inches long and are tapered with a fairly coarse base and fine tip. Bucktail absorbs water and when wet is supple allowing it to move with the currents with life-like motion. Buckail is durable and inexpensive, which makes it popular for tying both fresh water and saltwater flies. |
