Mark Stensland invented the Boom Creek Special with
flats fishing in mind. However, it turned out to be the great equalizer
for black-water creek baby tarpon. Patty Barnes drew first blood with this
pattern on Boom Creek, a picturesque tributary to the Sittee River in
southern Belize. With it she landed seven 18" to 23" tarpon in
her first dozen casts. It was the only pattern that worked that day.
Our party of three landed over twenty baby tarpon that morning.
|The Boom Creek Special is an orange epoxy head streamer that is easily cast with an eight-weight rod. It is also proven on river tarpon over 20 pounds.|
