Witchcraft Popper Flashy Fish , Chartreuse  Painted Popper, Brown
Flashy Fish Popper, Blue  Flashy Fish Popper, Green Painted Popper, Bright
Flashy Fish Popper, Pink

Our "Flashy Fish" are designed to act like wounded or escaping bait fish.  We have put emphasis on designing these poppers to cast with a minimum of air resistance.  They ride low in the water for maximum disturbance.  However, they are easy to pick up for a re-cast because of the smooth face design.  The finishes are crystal clear epoxy over woven mylar for a life-like scale pattern. The "Painted Popper" series features a protective coat of epoxy over a stylish air-brushed  paint job.  They ride higher in the water than the "Flashy Fish" series. Lighter in weight still are the Witchcraft Poppers. They are constructed with holographic scale tape over a foam.

0Witchcraft Saltwater Popper,
#2/0 -Body 5/8"x 2" plus tail
Holographic scale pattern.  Very reflective.  Very lightweight and easy to cast.
This is a very effective fly for many species of predatory saltwater fish.  We have caught very large specimens of jack crevelle, dorado and
Pacific Yellow Tail with this fly.  It is most effective when fish are feeding on natural schools of shiny baitfish or live baitfish that have been thrown from the boat as chum.  This fly has caught lots of fish while being fished on the surface with a floating line or intermediate-tip line. It often becomes even more effective when fished with a fast sinking line such as Rio's DeepSea line. Use a stout leader of about six feet long.  Cast the fly to the fish and let the fly line sink about a foot before you start the retrieve. Then jerk the fly beneath the surface

with a long hard strip.  This causes the fly pop and gurgle and then dive like an escaping bait fish. More long, hard, fast strips will cause the fly to continue to sink and wobble with a swimming action.  The strikes are usually very positive.  If this fly has a down-side it is that it is somewhat fragile and because of the lightweight construction gets chewed up fairly quickly.  I guess an angler could have worse problems.  Buy plenty of them, or you might wish you had.

Fishing on the surface is the most classic style of fly

fishing.  Popper fishing is about as close to dry fly fishing as the saltwater angler is going to get.  There is no doubt in the thrill of seeing a trout come to the surface and sip a dry fly from the surface of a clear stream.  However, watching a forty pound dorado slash to the surface, crush your popper, and then extract many hundreds of feet of backing from your screaming reel is an event hard to accurately describe. Popper fishing is a game that every saltwater angler ought to be prepared to try.
