Larry Kingrey of Canon City, Colorado designed the K's Better Foam Caddis series to be nearly unsinkable. This is one of the better caddis dry flies patters for fishing choppy riffle water.

K's Better Foam Caddis, Black The foam wrapped body on this caddis floats, even after the rest of the fly is wet. In the Pacific Nortwest, Little Black Short-Horned Sedges (Glossosoma) are one of the first caddis species to hatch in the early spring. On many rivers, they remain prominant throughout the summer months until mid-September, which means you better have size-18 black caddis patterns in your fly box the entire season.

K's Better Foam Caddis, Olive The foam wrapped body on this caddis floats, even after the rest of the fly is wet. There are several families of green or olive body caddis that are prolific in diverse rivers and streems. These hatches go on most of the warm months. K's Better Foam Caddis, Tan The foam wrapped body on this caddis floats, even after the rest of the fly is wet. Many species of brownish colored caddis are much lighter in color when they first emerge onto the water surface. This fly pattern is also a great aquatic moth pattern for the Deschutes River in Oregon.
