Marcy Stone

Marcy L. Stone was born and raised in the warm, sunny climate of Ft Lauderdale, Florida, but you won’t find any pictures of her with Marlin, Permit, or Tarpon. It was only after moving to Oregon did she ever hold a fishing rod of ANY kind in her hand.

Wanting to see why her friends were getting up before daylight and coming home after fishing all day with nothing but a wet jacket and a smile, she decided to take up fly fishing. At the end of a long day of learning how to cast with a single hand rod, Marcy was presented with a lesson with a Spey rod…and couldn’t put it down! This was the day she decided to be an eternal “Spey rodding Steelhead Chick” !

Marcy currently works at The Fly Fishing Shop in Welches, Oregon so she can surround herself with all the information she can about the sport of fly fishing. Always game for any outdoor activities, she is slowly accumulating a list of fresh and saltwater fishing expeditions, but will always have a fondness for winter steelheading on the Sandy River, only a few miles of her home on Mt. Hood. On her days off, you can find her fishing in the snow, sun, wind or rain for steelhead, and anticipating the next “take”…
