Jon Hazlett

Jon is a full time guide in Southern Oregon and Northern California for summer and winter steelhead on the Rogue, Trinity, various Southern Oregon coastal rivers. He also pursues trout in Northern California on the Fall River, Hat, and Pit Rivers, and fall salmon on the Lower Rogue. He is a partner in Confluence Outfitters, which is a regional outfitter in N. Cal and S. Or. Jon was introduced to the spey rod ten years ago by Ken Morrish, who suggested he should take a guided trip with Mike McCune. Jon says, "My first real instruction was from Mike. It was quite memorable. We fished in a January blizzard on a coastal river and had an epic day."
Outside of guiding, Jon stays busy doing Sage endorsed clinics and private instruction. He also writes a steelhead column for California Fly Fisherman Magazine, call "Chasing Metal". www.calflyfisher.com 
He designed a series of flies, The Dirk Wigglers, now available from Solitude Fly company in four colors. Jon lives with his wife Jamie. They have three dogs, two boats, and no kids.
