| Current Condition: The river is fishable
color.
Fresh summer steelhead and spring Chinooks are scattered throughout the river
in sparse but good numbers. Some wild winter kelts are still passing down
stream. Please
treat all wild fish gently. The main stem is open to harvest of hatchery steelhead and salmon up to the mouth of Salmon River. The main stem above the mouth of Salmon River and all tributaries closed to all fishing October 31. |

14-Day Forecast: The river is usually clear if the freezing level is below 5000 feet. The river is usually muddy if the freezing level is above 6000 feet. Warm weather will bring snow melt and glacial run off. Steelhead will be available through the summer. |
